Founded in 2013 by Aisha Tedros and her husband, A.T. Oasis Coffee and Tea Shop serves 100% all-natural organic coffee imported directly from Ethiopian farmers. Aisha, from Eritrea, just north of Ethiopia, envisioned a neighborhood gathering place where people could experience the rich flavors and beautiful traditions of Ethiopian coffee. She had always been interested in the coffee industry, and didn’t want to give up the opportunity to meet new people every day, so after nine successful years in the restaurant service industry, she and her husband opened A.T. Oasis Coffee and Tea Shop. For optimal freshness, they personally roast all the beans in small batches locally in Arizona. They also proudly sell their coffee wholesale to local and regional coffee shops and roasters. A.T. Oasis Coffee and Tea Shop not only serves great drinks, but also great food. Only fresh ingredients are used in their homemade food, from the sambusas to full mudamas. A.T. Oasis is also the only coffee shop in Central Phoenix that offers customers a traditional Eritrean coffee ceremony. Check out what a traditional Eritrean ceremony is like here:

Did You Know?

As of January 1, 2018 the Arizona Minimum Wage will increase from $10 per hour to $10.50 per hour for all employees. The only exception to this rule is for tipped employees. Tipped employees may make up to $3 per hour less ($7 now/$7.50 on January 1, 2018) provided that they receive enough tips to ensure that they are receiving minimum wage per hour of their shift.

The new sick-time laws are also already in effect. Here is a simple breakdown of the requirements:

For employers with 15 or more employees: Employees must accrue a minimum of one hour of earned paid sick time for every 30 hours worked, but employees are not entitled to accrue or use more than 40 hours of earned paid sick time per year, unless the employer selects a higher limit.

For employers with fewer than 15 employees: Employees must accrue a minimum of one hour of earned paid sick time for every 30 hours worked, but they are not entitled to accrue or use more than 24 hours of earned paid sick time per year, unless the employer sets a higher limit.
